Container House - A Complete Guidance

Definition of container house

A container house is a prefabricated home made with natural light, ventilation, and insulation features. Containers are airtight, retaining heat during winter and cool during summer. They also have no nails to fall out, which helps with structural stability, and are fireproof for up to a 1/2 hour.

The type of container house

There are many container houses, including wooden container houses, metal container houses, etc. Wooden containers can be used for office spaces, especially the ones that have been remodeled and have good insulation quality. Metal containers are often used for storage as they are fireproof and lined with steel. Metal container houses can be a permanent place of residence, but they may be too small if you have a big family.

The components of container house

A container house has seven key components, including exterior walls, roof, insulation and insulation materials, windows and door frames, doors, cabinets, and countertops. The exterior walls are made with containers and steel frames. The roof is made of metal sheets and includes skylights, windows, and a chimney. The insulation layer is made of foam insulation surrounded by exterior wall panels and often includes wall heaters. Windows include glass, frames, and wooden shutters or blinds. Doors are made out of wood or metal. There are cabinets for storage as well as countertops for kitchen use.

The advantage of container house

Using a container house has many advantages, including durability, ease of moving, and recyclability. Containers have high durability and are resistant to wear and tear. They are also easily transportable once they have been emptied of their original load. This is advantageous if you relocate your home or use the container in another construction project. Most importantly, they are completely recyclable, so you can always make good use of them after it is demolished. Container houses are also customizable, so you can choose the layout of the containers and customize your home to meet your needs. You can even have several different-sized containers if you need extra storage space or a larger kitchen. If you want to add more rooms, adding a container house is much easier than adding to a conventional home. Lastly, container houses are very secure because they are fireproof, eliminating the cost of rebuilding each time a fire breaks out.

The disadvantage of container house

The main disadvantages of container houses are that the cost is huge, it is hard to maintain, and it does not produce energy. Container houses are also more expensive to purchase and rent than rental properties of the same quality. They can be difficult to heat in colder climates, so you may need to make additional heating arrangements. Container homes can be more expensive and complicated to expand or renovate than traditional homes. Moreover, it is nearly impossible to add a bathroom since bathrooms must be water- and vapor-proof.

The safety considerations

There are many safety considerations when using a container house, including structural stability, adequate insulation, and fire protection. The foundations of the container house must be strong enough to support the unit's weight. You should also ensure enough insulation to prevent heat loss during harsh winters and sweltering summers. The fire protection of a container house must also be considered since containers are difficult to extinguish once they catch on fire.

Precaution

In order to prevent accidents, we need to pay attention to the following points.

Do not store explosives, compressed gases and liquefied gases, flammable liquids, flammable solids, spontaneous combustibles and flammable and explosive materials such as wet combustibles, oxidants and organic peroxides.

Do not store chemical raw materials and other dangerous goods. Because these articles encounter fire, static electricity, or by high temperature, severe shock and other possible explosion or combustion, resulting in fire accidents.

It is forbidden to cook food over an open fire, to burn incense and candles, to smoke in bed, and to load cigarette butts in non-combustible containers.

Avoid fire caused by open fire or high temperature contact with wood polystyrene, plywood, polyurethane, indoor combustibles, etc.

It is necessary to regularly inspect the fire safety of mobile houses, investigate and deal with violations, ensure a smooth fire passage, ensure normal fire fighting facilities, and eliminate hidden dangers.
